You never know where you'll make a sale...
[NOTE: I took a couple days off around September 11th. I started to post something on the 11th but hit the wrong button and lost it. In the long run I think it was better to NOT post it...it was a bit too personal and possibly controversial to some.]
I think I've decided that from now on, whenever I leave the house, I take a couple copies of the Nothingface graphic novel with me. I spent a good chunk of Saturday sitting in a little restaurant/pub where a friend of mine works. You know, the kind of smart, funny, pretty friend whose smart-funny-prettiness makes you want to spend a good chunk of time away from the things you SHOULD be doing just to be around them for a little while and recharge your batteries with a little bit of their energy. Uhh...anyway.....
So, I'm sitting there and I wind up slipping myself into someone elses conversation. This guy was talking about this series of sci-fi novels he's completely enthralled with and it sounds interesting. At some point he asks about MY book, I guess he'd heard about it from my friend. I would have had a sale right then and there...if I'd only had a copy on me! I'm supposed to take one in for him this upcoming weekend...so I still make the sale, just a little delayed. One down, a few boxes full to go!
Work-wise: I'm getting started on Trailer Park of Terror Halloween Special #2 letters and I'm almost done lettering Lost Squad #1, just waiting for a couple more pages of art on that one. Still working on a couple Nothingface scripts, #2 is done and Dan is working on that now (at least he BETTER be!) and I have another single-issue story that is done and I'm waiting to hear back from the artist who was interested. Still looking for a colorist. One expressed interest but I'm still waiting to hear back.
How am I wasting time?
I broke down and bought the Lost Season 1 DVD. Lost was one of the shows last season that I didn't miss a single episode of, along with 24 and Alias, but I just wanted to see the whole thing again before the new season starts next week. I watch too much TV as it is so BUYING a TV show seems really....wrong, somehow. But what the heck, it's better than being out partying or something...I'm too old for that stuff anyway. ;)
Besides, how can I resist Evangeline Lilly?

Welcome back!
Thanks! Nice to know someone's reading! :D
Do I have an Evangeline Lilly for you. Saw a pic in one of these Entertainment Weekly magazines I have kicking around somewhere. Will post it on my blog for tomorrow's update if I can find a scan.
GAH!! More of that go-jous lady. How am I supposed to concentrate on reading the rest when there she is, talkin' to me, begging me to wisk her away in the love-adventure that is known only as "The Ray." Ah, dearest Evangeline, if only things were so simple. Another lifetime, perhaps.
;o)
