So...a new year is upon us...

Let's all hope it doesn't SUCK...but I'm not holding my breath.

On an up note, in the days following all the holiday hooplah I got a few lettering jobs finished up! First Lost Squad #3 for Devil's Due (written by CG Kirby and drawn by Alan Robinson) and Escape of the Crimson Crustacean for Luchador Entertainment (written by Al Dorantes with art by Phil Juliano). Both of these are pictured here...I also did a couple other things I'm not sure if I can mention yet.

Okay, back to business...

Enough with the girlies, back to comics and such.

Just finished lettering the first issue of a new book from Imperium, the guys who do Trailer Park of Terror. Hopefully we'll have some publication details soon.

Finishing up letters on Lost Squad #3 as soon as I finish this little update.

A couple more lettering gigs to finish or start and five scripts to get written asap.

More details andf hopefully more art as soon as I can.

On the twelfth day of Christmas....

Well, there we go...all 12 days o' Christmas. Hope everyone has a good Christmas....and if you don't celebrate it, heck with you! Just kidding, have a good....uhhh....Sunday. Unlike oprevious years when I had everything done weeks in advance and could just chill the week before the big day, I'll be scrambling around trying to get things ready until the last minute. At least it's not here this year so I don't have to stress cleaning for everyone...we can just trash the house getting ready and not worry about it until Monday! :D

Prime rib, smoked turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, pecan pie, cheesecake, presents...yeah, Sunday will be a treat.

Then it's back to the slave pits to pay for it all. ;) Have a good one everybody!!

Oh, almost forgot...one last wintery wonder just for that Ed fella! (Of course you can click her to see her bigger) And Christina, if you're reading, gimme a break! Trust me there are much worse Christmas/winter themed pictures I could have posted. These weren't really THAT bad, were they? C'mon! I'm a bloody boy scout most of the time, don't I get to just be a "guy" once in a while?!?! ;)

On the eleventh day of Christmas....

I hate to inject a little sentimentality into this low brow festival of holiday honies, but Christmas really started for me last night. I mean really came home and pushed all the stress and grumpies out of me and started a roasty toasty little fire in my heart. Yeah, yeah, most of you guys aren't used to mushy stuff from me, but deal with it.

Last night I delivered some Christmas treats and presents to the house of a friend. This included a couple of little things for her 4-year-old daughter. Man! Seeing her face light up and hearing her squeal and laugh and watching her squeeze that stuffed frog until I thought it's eyes would pop off....I'm still smiling and chuckling to myself over it today! I finally FEEL Christmas again. That seems to get harder and harder every year.

Now, I just hope I can hold onto it for a little while. :)

On the ninth day of Christmas....

The queen of modern-man-made-siliconed-surgically-sculpted "beauty"...not one of my faves but I figure the boys will apreciate a little Christmas Pammy. ;)

On the sixth...and seventh day of Christmas....

I'm a little late with today's "babe" so I figure I'll go ahead and post tomorrow's early at the same time....

Ya know, I had a female friend gripe about the babes and say I was "such a GUY." And she didn't mean it as a compliment. :D Then she suggested I post some Christmas pics of guys...for the women who come here. Other than her, I don't think ANY women come here. HOWEVER, I offer a deal....in case she can fight through her disappointment in me and check out the blog again....if she sends me a HOT christmas themed pic of herself (NOT for posting here) I'll post a guy along side every girl. If she sends me a REALLY HOT Christmas themed pic of herself (again, NOT for posting here...sorry guys, you'd LOVE 'er but I wouldn't want to share) I'll post nothing but hunks through New Years!

Don't worry guys, it'll never happen. She's chicken. :p You won't be subjected to glamor boys in Speedos. ;)

On the fifth day of Christmas...

Don't know that anyone will actually READ this...too busy staring at the girls! But, I figured I might as well take a minute and do SOME kind of update in addition to posting girls.

COMICS: Everyone is slowed down a bit because of the holidays but work progresses. Colorist Ray Dillon is busting his butt doing a bunch of LOTR sketch cards on top of his normal work and plans to get rolling on Nothingface color again after the new year. Dan Schmidt is working away on the second book of his Nothingface arc, I think we're pretty much in the ink stage on everything. Lee Ferguson just sent me rough breakdowns for the first issue of his Nothingface arc and he plans to jump right onto it after the new year starts. And Martin Montiel took off for a holiday a few days ago but says he will be working a little bit on The Black Watch while he's away.

My lettering on Dead men Tell No Tales is done, we just wrapped up #4. I started a fun kids book/comic for Luchador Enterprises (my buddy Al Dorantes) and will have something else (another one-shot) starting soon. Pierce and Trailer Park of Terror are still ongoing from Imperium Comics. Now that Dead Men is done....I need more work!!

PERSONAL: Christmas preparations are nearing completion! Today is all about baking and making candy, tomorrow is wrapping presents and then aside from picking up the prime rib from the butcher on the 21st (fresh, people, raised right down the road...it's gnna be goooood) and a trip to FedEx probably Monday, I'm done. Ready to just chill until the 25th! :D

On the first day of Christmas, the internet gave to me...

In honor of the holiday....and the fact that no one even reads this thing but a few of my comic makin' dude friends...I'm going to run a little feature I fondly refer to as....

THE TWELVE BABES OF CHRISTMAS!!!

Technically this shouldn;t be posted until after midnight, making the 13th day one, but heck, it's already the 13th on the east coast....

The pics'll get bigger and better as we go....but on the off chance my family actually pops in, it'll all be PG material. Sorry, ya pervs!

His name is Earl...

This is one of the funniest shows on TV! Jason Lee's Earl and his white trash friends and relations are so close to real it's scary. They are like Springer guests that got their own sitcom. But what's cool is that between the stupid foul ups and trailer trash behavior, it's the story of Earl, who's recently discovered the concept of Karma, going out to make up for every crappy thing he ever did to anyone. It's funny, but it's got a heart too.

You probably recognize Jason Lee (Earl) from Mallrats, Chasing Amy and all the other Kevin Smith flicks ...or you might even recognize his voice from The Incredibles where he played Syndrome. Every time I see this dude on screen, big or small, I find him instantly likable...even when he's playing an a-hole.

His dunderheaded brother Randy is played by Ethan Suplee, another Kevin Smith film regular (he was the guy in Mallrats who spent the whole movie staring at the "magic eye" poster). He plays dumb with the best of them.

And, of course, it doesn't hurt a thing that Earl's ex-wife Joy (the trailer trashiest of them all) is played by Jaime Pressly. Yeah, I got the hots for that little firecracker...now I get to see her once a week. ;)

Seriously though, the show is really funny, check it out.

Something to tide you over

Okay, we hit a little delay as Martin had to go back and do some additional work on a project he thought was done. So, here's another piece of his work to tide you over....

Martin Montiel has done fill-in and assistant work on books like WITCHBLADE, INFERNO, and NOTTINGHAM and then went on to pencil THE MAGDELENA/VAMPIRELLA and six and three issue runs on THE DARKNESS.
